Manuela Wüthrich (born January 19, 1985), who goes by the stage name Nuela Charles, is a Canadian, Swiss, and Kenyan singer-songwriter, who plays a style of soul, pop, R&B, jazz and hip hop music. She has released two musical works, Aware (2012) and The Grand Hustle (2016).
Early life and background[]
Charles was born as Manuela Wüthrich on January 19, 1985, in Kenya, to mother Beatrice Wüthrich. She graduated from Briercrest College and Seminary in 2008, and she identifies as a Christian.
Music career[]
Her music recording career started in 2012, when she released her debut studio album, Aware, on October 23. She released another studio album, The Grand Hustle, on November 4, 2016.
Nuela represented her mother's birth country Switzerland at The Origin Song Contest 02 in Espoo, Finland, with her song "Crumbling Down" from the album The Grand Hustle. The song won the contest, scoring 133 points and a 17 point margin on the runner up. The song also won its semi-final, scoring 113 points.
