Katarzyna Popowska (born 25 November 1989), also known as Kasia Popowska is a Polish singer and self-taught guitarist. Her debut album titled 'Tlen' was released on 16 September 2014.

Career

Poland's Got Talent

In 2009 she auditioned for the second series of Polish version of the "Got Talent show format, called "Mam talent!". In front of the judges she sang "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. Despite receiving positive judges' comments and public reaction, she failed to get through to the live semi-finals. This caused many viewers to protest, who wanted Kasia to return to the competition.

In late 2009 Popowska announced in one of her YouTube videos that she had signed a record deal with a label and was going to start working on her debut album. This album was released in September 2014.

2014-: Debut Album

Popowska's debut album, 'Tlen' was released in September 2014 under the Universal Music Poland label. A re-release, called 'Tlen - Kolor i Maj' was issued in July 2015. The debut album included songs such as the lead single "Tlen" and "Lecę tam".

2017: The Origin Song Contest

On 5th February 2017 it was announced that Kasia was chosen to represent Poland at the first edition of The Origin Song Contest. It was announced also that Kasia would perform her self-composed song "Dryfy". This was especially significant as Popowska represented the host country, at the Tauron Arena in Kraków. She placed ninth with 72 points.
